Another Sunny Afternoon, Walking to the Sound of My Favorite Tune

I always love the idea of having theme songs and pictures to tell stories of your life. But since life as i know it isn't a movie, it's nice to go out to places and take peculiar pictures, while envisaging songs that rather illustrate your day in the life.

Meanwhile, can you guess what song title or what song lyrics each picture has?

so here we are

no more keeping my feet on the ground

half-past-done

save some face, you know you've only got one.
change your ways, while you're young

so give me coffee and tv. history...

trade all your heroes in for ghosts

closing time. one last call for alcohol, so finish your whisky or beer

Top 10 Musical Motions of My Time

Okay. It's 11.47 midnight. Tomorrow i have persus exam, which by far, supposedly be the most challenging subject in law school. The reading materials consist of 79 pages of "pure entertainment". Old flaky paper smelling like gasoline with bacteria-sized letters that i have to grasp in approximately 4 hours tops.

So the question being now, what am i doing jabbling here while i should study. Seems like it's a much more important business to do. But i guess instead of forcing my brain to absorb endless line-memorizing energy-consuming persus-studying, i'd rather take a moment or two to update this much-abandoned blog (me sorry bloggo, bloody miss ya, lad!)

and the interesting topic today, or at least IMHO, is about videos in the past years that catches your every glance. You wouldn't stop staring at the TV until the person singing there is done. And the more importance, i prioritized those who creatively pulled-off a low-budget video with impeccable ideas (well actually, my winning vid is last on the list). Anywaaaayyyyys, enjoy!

10) Mr. Brightside by The Killers

No special effects whatsoever, but this video is helplessly disarming. It has some intriguing charms to it.

9) Original Sin by Elton John - or Sir.. Elton John

Yeah, i gotta admit. This first grabbed my attention because Mandy Moore's in it. I'm not that different than those teen-bopper-worshipper i supposed. Ha.ha.

8) What is Happening? by Alphabeat
You can check out the video in my earlier post.

7) Come Into My World by Kylie Minogue

First, i gotta say Kylie is a sensational artist. I don't care that many people i know don't dig her music, but j'aime l'Fever (sorry French-speaking people, my French is a whack-job). And please note that Michel Gondry directed this. That adds about 90 points from my perspective.

6) 1234 by Feist

Sultry voice that hypnotizes, check. Quirky attitude, check. Whimsical dance routine with colourful do, definitely check.

5) Music is My Radar by Blur

It was a tie between this and Coffee and TV. I don't wanna post two vids by the same artist (not sure why). This beauty eventually won, though.

4) The Scientist by Coldplay

Out of loads of Coldplay vids, i chose this one because it's a classic favorite. It has a far-fetched tune that gives you goosebumps because it's so daaaarn gooood! And mind you, as far as i remembered, this vid is the pioneer for many other backward-motion music videos in later years.

3) Selfish Jean by Travis

These Glasgow lads are never a short of ideas. A regular looking guy(not Brad Pitt, or Zac Efron-esque model). A camera to shot. A couple of props (could be found at home, in the kitchen). Et voila, you got yourself a very entertaining 4 minutes and 14 seconds of your life.

2) Here It Goes Again by Ok Go

Okay. Maybe some of you are already sick since i reckon this video is soaking in limelight, grabbing attentions here and there. You gotta give them props though, who would thought gym could be as fun and say.... artistic?

1) Typical by Mute Math

And so goes the man of the match. These guys proved that doing a backward-motion video doesn't have to be mimicking those done in the past (read: The Scientist plagiarizing). They made backward-motion awesome all over again and that's just an understatement.

There might be other videos that are, if not more, than as good as these. It would be great if you wanna share. Cheers!

PS: Sorry if some videos cannot be found or such poor quality. Blame YouTube, they banned like gazillions of brilliant videos. Haha, just kidding, don't sue me there!

Hide and Seek

unlock the cage
turning to another page
the fools parade
look at all the friends we made

street lights fade out
befall the night
as the restless
crawl out their nests

Ring out the band again
a strangely twisted promise land
when sweet began
grant yourself a tasteless end

go back to sleep
inside your dreams
and make believe
all possibilities

stroll on along
pebble path i barely see
a harmful song
of warm untainted melody

look now
ain't faith such a funny thing
silver lining
for hollow wings

all the toys and the lemonade in the summertime
have given all the joy and all the heartaches for times to come
Ride on a spinning rollercoaster in the carnival
showing all the worse and all the better in times to fall

(just a little something i wrote in my pastime)

All I Do is Browse Tonight, Even Twice as Sweet but Half as Bright

Sekedar ingin berbagi link video. Ini "What is Happening?" by Alphabeat, band asal Denmark. Konsep videonya kreatif banget. Nonton video ini memperbaiki mood jadi bagus. I surely know that, secara earlier today mood gw sempet kacau bgt sampe males ngapa2in. Eniweiiiis, enjoy!

Closing Walls and Ticking Clocks

Pardon to blabber around. It's about maturity.

Maturity, jadi dewasa, growing up. Sebenernya what defines maturity in a person sih?

How about a person who acts like a child on daily basis. Maksudnya, ya bercandanya nggak di-rem, ketawa ngasal nggak ber-manner dan nggak poised. Tapi misalnya, dia udah bisa make a living sendiri, ato minimal ngurus diri sendiri dan nggak terlalu ngerepotin orangtuanya.

Mereka lari, nggak mau menghadapi masalahnya, ato nyalahin orang lain?

Iseng aja sih nulis gini. Gw ngerasa gw masih sering caught up dengan hal-hal yang most people consider 'unimportant' dan malah suka agak stuck in my own world gitu. Haha. Sementara gw kerjaannya cuman baca2in blog orang yang kocak2 dan ketawa2 nggak jelas depan laptop (don't get me wrong, i'm not saying it's a bad thing). Or sometimes jalan2 pointless, nggak untuk ngerjain sesuatu, dan almost everyday aja.

So, what's my purpose in life then? I haven't found out yet. Jadi, gini deh jadinya..Hehe

I think that's all. So maybe, i'm gonna start being mature, starting from scratch. Cheers!

Nacho Libre And All His Friends

Kemaren pulang-pulang cukup nganggur dan tiba-tiba lapar menghampiri perut gw lalu mengetuk...
.
Laper: tuk..tuk..tuk...
Anggo: (ga diladenin)
Laper: dok..dok..dok
Anggo: (mulai melihat ke kulkas...nope..nothing to chew on)
Laper: grooook...groook..groook..
.
.
Okay....
.
So, gw pun mulai ber-improvisasi dgn bahan seadanya.
Step 3: ambil keju (imported cheddar, gouda, or emmenthal are better, otherwise just use regular cheddar)
Step 4: parut (pake parutan yg lobangnya gede2 (kayak buat kelapa), taro di atas tortilla chips
Step 5: tomat potong dadu2, taro
Step 6: actually better with a little mashed avocado, to make guacamole
Step 7: some ground oregano and drizzle a touch of extra virgin olive oil
Step 8: taro di microwave for about 2-3 minutes (or until cheese melts and tomato gets tender, takes a while longer with regular cheddar)
.
.

*adri.......eating with advertising attitude
